Dr Matt Jones obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Bristol in the UK. He subsequently worked in the UK for a short period of time, before emigrating to Perth, Western Australia in 2008.

After several years working in the surgical field Matt was selected onto the highly competitive five-year Surgical Education and Training Program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed his training in January 2020 and is now a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

Matt proceeded to spend the next two and a half years developing his surgical skills over four main fellowship positions in the UK and Europe. His fellowships focussed on the areas of paediatric plastic surgery and aesthetic surgery.

Matt has a specialist interest in facial aesthetic and breast surgery. He undertook two international cosmetic fellowships in Europe. He spent the first 6 months working with Dr Enrico Robotti in Bergamo, Northern Italy. Dr Robotti is the past president of the European Rhinoplasty Society and a globally renowned plastic surgeon who practices in aesthetic and functional rhinoplasty. Matt spent a further 4 months as a fellow at the Weymouth Street Hospital and Harley Street clinics in London, UK which are world renowned. During this time, he focussed on facelift, eyelid, breast surgery and liposuction. He worked with various internationally recognised plastic surgeons who are leaders in their respective fields.

Matt also undertook further training and fellowships with major European centres and surgeons during his time overseas. This comprised of:

• Short fellowship at Akademikliniken Plastikkirurgi, Stokholm. Akademikliniken is Scandinavia’s most renowned destination for cosmetic surgery and skincare treatments. Matt focussed on breast surgery during his time at the clinic, working with a number of highly skilled surgeons in this field.
• Total Definer Body contouring with Alfredo Hoyos in Porto, Portugal. Matt studied high definition liposculpture under the world renowned plastic surgeon Alfredo Hoyos. Dr Hoyos is the creator of the innovative liposculpture techniques that have revolutionised traditional liposuction, such as the Vaser High Definition Liposculpture (Hi Def Lipo). The procedure produces much better results than any conventional liposuction.
• Teo Rhinoplasty Fellow Programme in Istanbul, Turkey. Matt undertook the fellow programme to study the revolutionary closed scarless rhinoplasty technique mastered by another world renowned surgeon, Dr Teoman Dogan, The programme enables experienced rhinoplasty surgeons to perfect the dorsal preservation approach through both lectures and surgeries.

With a passion for paediatric plastic surgery, Matt undertook fellowships at the two largest paediatric hospitals in the UK; Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. He focussed on general paediatric plastic surgery, congenital hand surgery and micro surgery.

Dr Jones holds consultant posts at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Perth Children’s Hospital where he is a passionate leader and teacher of junior plastic surgeons.

He also consults privately from 48 Ventnor Avenue, West Perth and operates at West Leederville Private Hospital, Southbank Hospital, Hollywood Private Hospital in Nedlands and The Park Private Hospital in Mount Lawley.
